CMV Collision Rt 1 at Cedar Church Road

Thursday, October 15th DVFC responded to a collision with a commercial vehicle on Rt 1 in the area of Cedar Church Road. Air 9 arrived to find a T bone style collision between a passenger car and a large truck on the southbound shoulder. The driver of the passenger car was transported for evaluation. The saddle tanks of the truck, as well as part of the transmission, had been damaged and were leaking oil and diesel fuel onto the roadway.  A dike was established and absorbent was applied to prevent oil and fuel from leaking into nearby ditches. HAZMAT was called to pump the remaining diesel fuel from the tank. Air 9, Engine 911, Car 902 and Car 903 were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours. The crash is under investigation by the Maryland State Police.
