Whiteford House Fire

Monday, March 9th DVFC Engine 913, Air 9 and Chief 9 responded to a House fire on Slate Ridge Road in Whiteford. Initial reports indicated a Gazebo on fire, spreading to the residence and the surrounding woods. Apparatus from
Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company arrived to find heavy fire to the rear of the residence. Additional Units responded from several surrounding jurisdictions. The fire was brought under control after about 1 hour.
DVFC units were on scene for approximately two and a half hours.
The cause of the fire in under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
