On Thursday July 9th Firefighters from DVFC, Bel Air and Level Fire Companies along with Harford County Department of Emergency Services and Maryland State Police responded to a MVC at Rt 1 and Sandy Hook Road in Street MD. The collision occurred between a tractor trailer and a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was entrapped by collision damage. Air 9 and Engine 314 removed the driver’s side door to facilitate removal of the patient. A Medevac helicopter was requested but unable to respond due to weather conditions. The patient was transported by Medic 92 to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was also evaluated. Units were on scene approximately 1 hour.
The collision is under investigation by the Maryland State Police.
