On Monday, March 16 at approximately 2AM DVFC was dispatched for a large shop fire on Castleton Road in Dublin. Captain 6-1 and Engine 913 arrived to find a 60x40 metal shop building on fire. Engine 913 began fire attack and protected exposure to fuel tanks adjacent to the building. Engine 911 arrived and dropped supply hose approximately 1300 ft down the driveway before supplying water to Engine 913. Additional units from surrounding jurisdictions arrived for mutual aid and supplied personnel. A water supply tanker operation was established on Castleton Road to supply scene operations.
The fire was brought under control after approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Overhaul operations continued to remove burning debris and fully extinguish the fire. Units began clearing the scene and returning to service around 4 am .
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
