Training With Chesapeake Search Dogs

On Saturday June 21st members of DVFC assisted Chesapeake Search Dogs with search and rescue training. Several dogs and their handlers were transported via Marine 9 and Swiftwater 9-1 into areas of the Susquehanna River north of the Conowingo Dam. A search utilizing the dogs was conducted along the shoreline. The intent of the training was for the dogs to locate test articles hidden underwater in real world conditions.
