The EMS Section is made of members responsible for responding to calls for Emergency Medical Services (Ambulance). While the Fire Section responds to many calls for EMS, the members of the EMS section take additional responsibility for EMS responses and obtain higher levels of medical training.

Harford County Department of Emergency Services has taken over ambulance service for the county. However, DVFC still operates two fully equipped ALS ambulances. The majority of EMS section responses are operated as a first responder basis to provide care until the arrival of a DES ambulance, however, the DVFC ambulances are still used occasional for transportation to the hospital.
